I have been a excellent customer for ten years. Earlier this year I bought a new television and I decided to get HD, so I called DIRECTV to request this service. That was April 18, or there about. The operator advised me there would be a extra $10.00 charge on my monthly bill. The operator DID NOT indicate that a two year contract would be initiated, I would not have accepted such terms if I had been told of a contract. Every DIRECTV rep that I spoken to has indicated this standard policy. My argument is that I was not given this information at the outset. Operator Cherie (who was very helpful) informed me that a letter was mailed to me with the information of a two year in effect because of my request for HD. That seems to me that this information was given after the fact. I cancelled my cable because it got to expensive, Now I know $335.92 is not a lot to a big company such as DIRECTV but it is a huge chunk of money to me. I am pleading with you to please remove this charge. I hope my good standing as a valued customer counts for something. And in the future if I can afford to, DIRECTV will be my ONLY choice for my TV viewing. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Richard Chavira
